James Mainwaring is an award winning composer and multi-instrumentalist best known for his saxophone playing in the Mercury Prize Nominated Roller Trio. He also performs solo and is a part-time PhD student at the University of York. 8211; recipient of the Sir Jack Lyons Scholarship. Mainwaring was born in 1989 in Warrington. He sang in rock bands and joined Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra before moving to Leeds to study jazz at Leeds College of Music. And his projects have been funded by PRSF.
